Mary Kathryn takes creative approaches in her career and with her clients. Her insurance career is no exception. Instead of starting as a field agent, Mary Kathryn started on a project team to build an insurance division within one of the largest banks in the United States. After transitioning to corporate training, Mary Kathryn joined the ranks of independent insurance agents in 2008. As an agent, Mary Kathryn not only sold insurance coverage, but also assisted clients with various claims.

Service to the community is an important aspect of Mary Kathryn’s upbringing. Serving the community with family members is something not everyone gets to do. Mary Kathryn followed in her grandfather’s footsteps by serving as a precinct official with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections and her mother as a member and Board officer with the Junior Charity League of Concord. As a Board member of Old Courthouse Theatre, Mary Kathryn serves where both her mother and brother served. Mary Kathryn is also a former board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners Charlotte Chapter (NAWBO). Mary Kathryn has a passion for helping families, she volunteers at the Amazing Grace Advocacy, a community to help youth and families that deal with mental health find solutions for peace and self care. Mary Kathryn also serves as the Deacon at the Common Prayer Room, a prayer space to interact with your spiritually and have meaningful conversations around God. 

A lifelong resident of Concord, North Carolina, Mary Kathryn possesses deep family roots, tracing her family history to some of the area’s earliest residents. In addition to holding insurance licenses in multiple states, Mary Kathryn earned her Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts from Central Piedmont Community College, Bachelor of Science in Communications from Appalachian State University, and Masters of Science in Instructional and Performance Technology from Boise State University. She currently resides with her family in historic Concord.
